ÜMUMMİLLİ LİDER HEYDƏR ƏLIYEVİN AZƏRBAYCAN-FRANSA MÜNASIBƏTLƏRINİN İNKİŞAFINDA STRATEGİYASI

Abstract

Serious changes in Azerbaijan-France relations began after national leader Heydar Aliyev returned to power. Reception of French ambassador J. Perren by Heydar Aliyev on August 13, 1993 was an important step in the direction of expanding bilateral cooperation. As a result of the influence of the strong Armenian diaspora in France, the French government has unequivocally shown its support to Armenia. As we know, France's gradual objective position in relation to this conflict started after national leader Heydar Aliyev returned to power. Thus, as a result of the measures t aken by H. Aliyev, who returned to political power in Azerbaijan in the middle of 1993, political and economic stability was established in the country, coups were prevented and important steps were taken in the direction of foreign policy. It can only be emphasized that H. Aliyev made his first working trip as the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan to France, four times in 1994-1997 - on May 8, 1995, to participate in the celebrations dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the victory over fascism.
