Abstract

The 70-80s of the 20th century is a period characterized by its uniqueness in the socio-political, socio-economic and cultural development of Azerbaijan. The events carried out during this period are related to the name of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. The Great Leader successfully coped with a number of difficult and complex tasks as a very capable, experienced head of state and a wise political figure. During that period, a number of important steps aimed at protecting the national interests of our country were taken in Azerbaijan in all fields. It was possible as a result of the leadership and principles of the national leader. The article talks about the failure of the work carried out in 1969-1982 in the direction of the baseless claims of the hated Armenians against the Azerbaijani lands, the falsification of history as part of the Armenian propaganda, the creation of a fictitious Armenian history, and the presentation of Azerbaijanis as a savage nation, as a result of Heydar Aliyev's principled position. In 1969-1982, when Heydar Aliyev led Azerbaijan during the Soviet era, he paid great attention and care to Karabakh, and always held Azerbaijan's national interests high. During this period, thanks to his determination, Armenian claims always failed.
