Abstract: The methodological basis of the research is historical and empirical analysis, as well as the analysis of relations and events between the two countries during this period. H. Kohl's Germany of the 90s of the 20th century demonstrated full solidarity in transatlantic relations during the Gulf War under the leadership of the United States and the crises of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo in the Balkans, but the first acute crisis in the relations between the two states occurred in 2002. during George Jr Bush administration. The political leadership of Germany, headed by Chancellor G. Schröder, along with France and Russia, condemned the US intervention in Iraq in 2003. The Iraq crisis has complicated relations between Washington and Berlin. With its modern population, low unemployment rate and developed industry, Germany is considered the driving force of the continent, and is in the first place among the countries that the United States has put on the target board in the transatlantic relations.
