dc.description.abstractIn our rapidly developing world, the generation of waste has become an inevitable consequence of human activity. From industrial processes to domestic consumption, the impact of waste on the environment is a growing problem. Food waste in particular is an urgent global problem. Worldwide, a large portion of food products are thrown into trash cans, causing a number of environmental problems. In the research work, the multifaceted impact of food waste on the environment was investigated and the problem of immediate elimination of its consequences was considered. The entire food supply chain, from production and processing to transportation and storage, requires significant energy costs. When food is wasted at any stage of this chain, the energy used to produce and distribute it is also wasted. Reducing food waste will not only save energy, but also reduce the need for fossil fuels. Thus, the negative effects on the environment related to energy consumption will be reduced. Food production requires vast land and water resources. When food is wasted, the resources used to grow it, water it, and harvest it are essentially wasted. This not only puts additional stress on ecosystems, but also leads to deforestation, habitat destruction and depletion of water sources. By reducing food waste, we can reduce the pressure on these vital resources.en_US
