Abstract: The synthesis of cyclopentadiene and methylcyclopentadiene from cyclopentane and methylcyclopentane, respectively, is considered a very hot topic. During the oxidative dehydrogenation of cyclopentane and methylcyclopentane on zeolite catalysts in the presence of air, valuable products are formed - alicyclic dienes. In this case, the participation of a dissociatively-adsorbed oxygen atom is considered a very important point. Active catalysts formed by clinoptilolite with various transition metal cations were obtained, and the catalytic activity of these catalysts in the reaction of oxidative dehydrogenation of cyclopentane and methylcyclopentane was studied. It has been established that catalysts formed by clinoptilolite {Cu2+ (0.5 wt.%), Zn2+ (0.2 wt.%), Co2+ (0.1 wt.%), Cr3+ (0.1 wt.%), are selective in regarding the preparation of the corresponding five-membered alicyclic groups. dienes.
